Smoky Fans began in 2018 as a passion project by Keith Jones, a developer with deep roots in the Smoky Mountains and a heart for his community. Inspired by faith and a quiet nudge from above, the idea felt like a Field of Dreams — “build it, and they will come.” What started in Keith’s living room was never just about code or listings. It was about connection, belonging, and honoring the small businesses that make these mountains feel like home.

The site grew slowly, gaining traction during the quiet days of the COVID-19 lockdown — a time that reminded us how much local truly matters. As a sister project of Right Angle Technology, it stayed alive through dedication and hope. And in 2025, a fresh perspective took root. With new eyes, thoughtful design, and a little creative spark, the project evolved into what you see today: a trustworthy business directory powered by community, crafted with care, and still true to its roots.
